EmployIndy’s Modern Apprenticeship Program (MAP) is a two-to-three-year program designed to prepare Central Indiana high school students for the workforce. With MAP, students earn money and college credit while gaining critical on-the-job skills and experience in business, advanced manufacturing, information technology (IT), and more.
After high school, students can continue working toward a college degree or jump right into the workforce. No matter the path, MAP gives students the tools they need to succeed.
“The Modern Apprenticeship program has helped me prepare for life after high school by connecting me with people who care about me and my career. I have a meaningful role working for the City and co-workers who encourage me daily. Having this opportunity and this professional network as a high school student has really set me up for success after I graduate.”

“My favorite part about being a Project Coordinator is the people I work with and the stories I hear. I take notes and have grown by asking for help more often. I would tell other apprentices to always ask questions, don’t be shy, and get used to talking often.”

“Modern Apprenticeship is helping me gain valuable life lessons and experience. Working at Roche, I get to be a part of a company that addresses healthcare and medicinal research. I have grown in many ways I did not expect, from my communication to organization skills.”
